Prelude I
(Ages 4 - 12)
The Prelude I Program offers students ages 4-12, 30 minute, one-to-one instruction that lays a strong foundation for young beginners in reading, rhythm, and musical expression.
Students explore a broad range of musical styles while learning to express stories and emotion through music. Lessons are active, imaginative, and thoughtfully structured — incorporating creative musical activities that reinforce each concept, leaving our students inspired to continue their progress at home.
Prelude II
(Ages 13 - 18)
The Prelude II Program offers students ages 13-18, 45 minute, one-to-one instruction designed to strengthen technical fluency, interpretive skill, and musical confidence.
Lessons emphasize expressive playing, technical versatility, and developing performance skill — whether in classical repertoire, contemporary works, or popular pieces. Students build independence at the piano through guided practice strategies, ear training, theory, and creative exploration.
Accelerated Academy
(Ages 7 - 18)
The Allegría Accelerated Academy offers a collaborative learning environment where students deepen their musical skills, develop their individual artistry, and cultivate the joy of performance amongst peers.
In small, 60-minute classes of three to four pianists, students receive individualized instruction, guided ensemble work, and monthly performance workshops. They learn to communicate musical ideas, listen critically and thoughtfully, and draw inspiration from the musicians around them. They discover not only how to shine as individual performers, but also how to support, encourage, and contribute to a musical community.
Longer, individually coached sessions in a small peer setting allow for deep exploration in self-expression and connection. Music is ultimately communication, expression and connection. Immersion in a rich culture of performance, collaboration, deep listening, and shared discovery supports students in becoming their most independent, expressive and confident selves.
