Scarlatti Sonata K159
Updated: Feb 21
Virtuoso harpsichordist and composer Domenico Scarlatti is considered one of the great keyboard composers in music history, composing over 550 keyboard sonatas in the first half of the eighteenth century. Scarlatti’s sonatas mark an important milestone in keyboard music, both in regards to their executive demands and their compositional technique. He wrote these works not solely for the harpsichord, but also for the recently invented Forte-Piano. Alma lays down the sonata with grace and flair.
